What can you do with a mortgaged house damaged by the floods?

HOME 911: By Tanya T. Lara
Dear home 911,
My family bought a modest house two years ago in Marikina on a 10-year bank loan. During typhoon Ondoy, floodwaters reached up to the second floor of the house, damaging everything inside. The wooden floors and walls have warped and all appliances and furniture have been destroyed. Luckily, we all survived without physical harm. The problem is that with the extent of repairs to be done to make the house livable again, we just can’t afford to pay the mortgage. And nobody wants to buy a house that was damaged by Ondoy, even if you sell it way below the market value — and what value is the house and lot now anyway? It is more practical for us to rent an apartment. While we can still meet the basic necessities, we feel desperate about the mounting bills. It’s easier for us to just let the bank repossess the property. Can we just stop paying and abandon the house? What are the consequences?

In some cases, that is the main reason for having a computer in our house. With that, we tend to seek internet service providers or ISPs that offer us the best deals such as high-speed internet or World Wide Web connection. Prior to this, we can seek the help from the famous Qwest. As what I have said, homes will not be complete without computer and internet and this is where Qwest comes in.

by admin on Jan.29, 2010, under Home Improvements, Home Management, Home Scenes, Home Tips, Homes
It goes without saying that peace starts at your home, and this can be achieved through constant communication, as well as respect and love among family members. But there are also other external factors that can enhance and help keep the peace and harmony in your home. Subtle things such as the positioning of mirrors in your bedroom or the direction a window is facing in your kitchen may affect your family relationships and even your spiritual and emotional wellness.
The ancient Chinese art and science of Feng Shui teaches us how to create harmony and balance in our environment to promote positive energy and peace. Rooted in the beliefs of Taoism, Feng Shui is used all over the world to achieve perfect balance and harmony between man and his environment (Even Bill Gates home himself uses Feng Shui in his home).
With this in mind, Mandara Waterfront Residences, the first oceanfront property in Manila, incorporates good Feng Shui in its peaceful, serene community. Located in Asia World City, Parañaque, the 1.4-hectare property auspiciously combines the four key Feng Shui elements of fire, air, earth and water to provide a perfect place to start your own home and to foster harmonious family relationships.

Are Mothballs Harmful?
by admin on Jan.08, 2010, under Home Management, Home Products, Home Tips
Only if you eat them or inhale large amounts of the fumes. Ordinary use of mothballs, such as placing them in an attic or storage chest to protect against moths, poses no risk of toxic exposure.
Mothballs were first made from camphor, and later naphthalene. Today, most are composed of the chemical p-dichlorobenzene. All three substances are toxic to humans if eaten or inhaled in large quantities.
P-dichlorobenzene can irritate you skin, throat and eyes. Prolonged exposure may lead to dizziness, weight loss and liver injury.

Plastic Wrap in your Microwave
by admin on Jan.07, 2010, under Home Management, Home Tips, Homes
Some scientist and consumer advocates raised a concern about cancer a few years ago when researchers found that chemicals in some plastics “migrate” into food. Transfer of particles cam occur when plastic wrap touches food for more than 10 minutes during full-power cooking.
Food and Drug Administration (FAD) scientist in the US don’t believe the migration poses a health risk. Also, not all plastic wraps contain “migrating” chemicals. Because there are no labeling regulations, however, it’s difficult to distinguish among wraps.
To be cautious, FDA suggests placing food in container large enough to allow at least three inches of space between plastic wrap and food. The extra space lets the wrap sag without touching the food. Or instead of plastic, use glass or ceramic lids to prevent splattering.
Also, don’t microwave in plastic margarine tubs or dessert topping containers. They’re fine for storing food, but they can easily melt. Use only cookware designed for use in the microwave.

by admin on Jan.02, 2010, under Direct Posts, Products
When we put up our own home, there will always be a need for us to have clocks inside of it. A home should have at least one clock in order for the members of the family to be aware of the time. However, even if we have clocks in our home, we can’t bring them with us whenever we leave home. That is the reason why there is a need for us to have watches. These will enable us to have “mini clocks” in handy. We can bring them anytime and anywhere. Speaking of watches, two of the leading brands of quality and stylistic watches are the Rolex watches and the Breitling watches. Buying these will definitely require you to spend much but did you know that you can actually save your self from too much expenditure and yet still have these watches? Why settle for its originals when in fact it will be practical for you to buy their replicas? This will be a very smart idea.
The thing is that replica watches look entirely the same from the original. However, the materials used might be of lower quality from that of original. This gives the replica watches lower price while venturing almost the same quality and appearance with original watches. If you are looking for replica rolex watches or replica breitling watches, there is only one website for you to go. This is the perfectwatches.net. They offer these watches and they guarantee you a hundred percent satisfaction with their products.
A home will not be complete without a clock and in the same manner; a person will not be able to complete his needs without watches. Be smart in purchasing your watches. You don’t have to spend much just to have high quality and branded products. Be contented with replicas that look almost the same as with the original.
