In the same way that the colors of one’s wardrobe tell tales, the colors of every space in the home exude an impression. This creates the need to choose the right color that compliments the overall theme of the house.

Here are list of some basic things to consider when it comes to choosing colors:

• Orange is warm and cozy, and stimulates creativity.
• Green goes well with any other color, can be invigorating as well as restful. It can be used as neutral color to balance a room.
• Red is passionate and intimate, while pink is lively and feminine. When used together, these colors can be great for a rich passionate lounge or a pastel bedroom.
• Yellow may be used with green, blue and orange. Yellow and blue when combined, can create an interior that looks fresh and upbeat.
• Violet is the color of royalties, but can also be sexy and stimulating.
• Blue creates a calm, meditative environment as it represents sky and water.
• Grey and neutral colors can be mixed with any color to create stunning interiors.

Everyone thinks of their house as “home”, the most beautiful place to be.

Most of housing designs have been modeled after European and American exemplars which are incongruous with our tropical climate. The resultant living conditions in these houses would then necessitate high energy and operating costs. The organizers feel it is time to challenge the aspirations of people through a redefinition of the concept of beauty in houses.

The competition aims to redefine the ideal of “beauty” or what is beautiful about a house to include sustainable concepts that will speak about how a house is lived in and how a house attuned to the tropical climate can be a beautiful place to live in.
