In the moment we are in a rather damaged housing market, and everywhere house prices (and values) have dropped extremely. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean they will always stay that way. We are seeing values increasing little by little again as the worse of the recession passes by. But you don’t have to wait for it to get back to where it was! You can improve the value of the house even further by making little changes, such as installing new flooring.
This is one of the uncomplicated ideas that many real estate agents and experts recommend in improving the overall value and look of your house, without having to spend a lot of money to do it. Either by yourself or hiring a contractor, there are plenty of looks and ways available to do it.
Foremost, decide on which area you want to change. For the living room, bedrooms, family room, hallways, or other major living areas, most would recommend hardwood floors. This has benefits to carpet, as it is easier to clean and maintain, doesn’t attract a lot of dirt, and doesn’t hold mites or other undesirables under the surface, which are hard to get out.
Tile floors would be best for areas that have water, such as the bathrooms, kitchen, or basement area. This can be linoleum, or even ceramic tiles, which resists water damage in the event that there is spillover, or full flooding. In addition, it will resist mold and mildew, which can be problematic in any areas with laundry rooms, showers, or any kind of humidity.
These simple changes and additions can make any home look different and new flooring will increase its value dramatically. It will look more attractive, creating a peaceful content feeling that will last you through every day.

Yes, this is a good time to update floors where needed. Since many are staying in homes they thought they would like to sell, because of the current economic lull, a new floor can make that stay more pleasant, and add value to their home for whatever their future holds.
Actually, I know a couple of folks who did just that, and were so satisfied that they now have no plans to sell even in the future.
